The Scars of a Purple Heart

CHESTER, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) The Purple Heart Award is almost as old as America, and was started by George Washington in 1782. It’s awarded to veterans who shed blood in combat.  Veterans who have a purple heart know the small token carries a heavy weight of memories. Tonight, a Vietnam War Veteran sharing his story of how his time in Vietnam left both mental and physical scars.  CN2’s Indira Eskieva introduces us to our latest CN2 Hometown Hero.  https://www.cn2.com/the-scars-of-a-purple-heart/

Here are the pictures of our visit to York Preparatory Academy on November 13, 2017.  Stephanie Young, the 5th grade girl in the pictures wrote a letter to me (Keith), asking me to visit her school so they could honor Veterans.  I told her I could bring someone from each service.  I couldn’t find a Coasty, so I sent two Navy.  She was the only kid with five Veterans.  It really made her day and ours too.
